“Tout Suite” – Art @ Suite 500

Now in its 22nd year, Art @ Suite 500 is an annual juried exhibition presented by the Graduate Program in Visual Arts in collaboration with York University’s Schulich School of Business.

The show features art works by current students and recent graduates of York’s MFA and PhD programs in Visual Arts. Each year, one or more works are chosen for purchase for the permanent collection of the Schulich School of Business.

The exhibition runs for a full year at Schulich’s downtown campus, the Miles S. Nadal Management Centre located at King and Bay Street in Toronto’s financial district.

YUGSA Academic Funds deadline

These include the Conference Support Fund, Thesis Support Fund, and Skills Development Fund. Applicants are eligible for funding from only one of these funds per year. Average funding is $100 per applicant and varies depending on the number of applicants.

Conference Support Fund
This fund is for students presenting at a conference. This fund is not for students who are only attending conferences and it is not meant to be a primary source of funding for conferences.

Thesis Support Fund
This fund is designed to help defray the costs involved in producing theses or major papers. Expenses covered under this fund include the costs of supplies, materials, and services expended on the project. Purchases of reusable/resaleable items such as computers, books, and journals will not be covered.

Skills Development Support
This fund supports projects that help students develop skills in relation to their programme of study. It is intended for practical, skills-based training programs not offered at York.

CUPE Professional Development Fund (PDF) deadline

The Professional Development Fund provides funding to members in all Units to support them in attending and presenting at conferences, and with other professional development expenses.

A total of $125,000 is allocated to this fund for purposes such as assisting new employees (priority to those within first two years of employment) develop professional competence and ability, to  assist employees in upgrading professional qualifications, and to help cover some of the expenses associated with presenting at conferences (airfare, hotels and such). The PDF does not cover capital costs such as equipment, software, stationary, and books, but does cover conference funding, professional development such as fees for courses/programmes/workshops.
